During the past few weeks my classroom and me have been writing our speeches for this Wednesdays class presentation, so I thought I would share my introduction.
How would you feel if students got a choice? If students ideas were appreciated as much as adults? Now, what if I told you that was all possible? As cheerless as it may sound, some students in New Zealand don’t get to choose what they learn about at school. Students have sterling solutions and extraordinary ideas which can change and form a better world, we just need to prove it. My name is Kate, and I’m here to persuade you why New Zealand should be run by a youth political party alongside the Prime Minister.
While writing this, I've constantly been editing, re-reading then editing it again. I've focused on replacing words like good to words like extraordinary, since our teacher reminded us to use emotive language to capture our readers attention and persuade them. I would like it if I could get comments about how I can improve it, or words I can exchange for more unique ones. Thank you for reading!
